"The point is this: Something somewhere is dangerously lacking, making Bible prophecy accurate!"
With leaps of logic like that, you will end up in a mental hospital.
Either, stop and think, or stop thinking.
bible describes ingratitude as one of the characteristics of last days.
people will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money ....ungrateful.... etc.
(2 timothy 3:2) it seems this prophecy about people becoming ungrateful is having its fulfillment more than 100%.. i was watching an interview on the tv the other day.

the subject of feeling nervous came up in sfpw recent thread http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/268270/2/im-curious-when-you-were-asked-to-do-a-demo-for-a-service-meeting-part-how-did-the-request-make-you-feel#.uqgz_0nd13b.
it reminded me of a sister i knew.
you always knew when you got to the meeting if she had a talk that night.
When I was an MS in my phase of making an effort, I used to get very nervous and any item really ruined that whole day or two before due to nerves.
Then one time I had the bible highlights and dutifully prepared for it. At the start of the meeting when I handed in my slip I suddenly realised I had prepared the WRONG weeks chapters,...
School overseer said, just do the best you can. I had 15 minutes inc song and prayer to go and prepare the correct material. I kept it simple, no one in the audience had any idea i'd only had 15 minutes to do it and many said it was an excellent item.
I learned a valuable lesson that night, I had been over preparing and making it into more of an ordeal than it ever needed to be. From then on I set myself a rule of 1 hour maximum to prepare any item I got. I never ever got really worried or anxious about items after that.
if all of the ex-watchtowerites and other critics of the religious bs we've been fed all our lives want to know and understand all the whys and hows of this monstrocity called the christian church, how it really came to be, what it is and what you can do about it, here it is on a neat platter.
it will shock the sensitive ones among you (if there still are any) to your core.
no fantacy and no bullshit here guys, this is the unadulterated truth.
sorry for another thread, however i saw on here that the two stele's disagree with each other, one saying adad guppi died on nab's 6th year and the other saying she died on his 9th regnal year.
is there truth to this or was it merely a translation error at the time?
i'm struggling to find info on this stuff so i come to the experts..
Which thread was it you saw this on?

Chappy is the Queen a 7 foot lizard in disguise too?

ok i know some of you are going to mock me but i don't give a shit and you'd better get dafaq outta this thread if you don't beleive in this stuff.. .
so,you ever seen somethin strange?shadow people?felt cold spots?touched by something you can't see?beaten by an unseen force?heard voices/whispers/growls/screams etc?are you sure about it or was it just your imagination?you ever been into the occult?c'mon share your experiences and stories!personally i've never had an encounter with the other side..
In the end people will believe what they want to believe, that's why we have religion, it isnt based on evidence, it isnt based on facts, but it is still believed in by millions even in this time of unprecedented scientific knowledge and information exchange.

Seraphim23 from what you wrote then I take it you also would only believe an extraordinary claim if it was backed up with evidence and witnesses? That is the sensible approach. Although in truth I doubt that is what you meant.
If I told you I went down the road to the shop and bought some milk and packet of biscuits, you would in all likelyhood see no reason to doubt me as it is an ordinary circumstance.
If I told you i went down the road to the shop and saw a tiger on the road and so had to run back empty handed (in the UK mind), you would likely remain doubtful unless it was corrberated by others. After all this scenario IS possible, but an extraordinary circumstance.
If I told you that I went down the road to the shop and saw a man change into a werewolf and then run off into the woods and I had to flee back home again, your bullshit meter would (or should) be twitching on 10.
Extraordinary claims DO require extraordinary evidence. Anecdotes mean nothing.
Look at the UFO sector for evidence of a self fulfilling feeding frenzy with next to nothing to go on. Same goes for all the other supernatural stuff, even the best stories usually falter and fail under any real scrutiny.
as a teenager back in the 1970's i once asked the question, how can they declare peace and security if the king of the north [soviet union] is to storm with many chariots?
i got the "what kind of question is that?
" response.. then in the 1980's i said "if it wasn'nt for the 1914 generation dying off, i don't see the slightest indication that babylon the great is going to be destroyed anytime soon.
And they wonder why some turn against them...?
With a track record of nil for successful prophecy, it takes huge amounts of spin and revisionist history to pacify the rank and file.
what made you realize it was time to go?
i've been having health problems for the last few years and instead of any help, i'm listed as spiritually weak and of course associations is only my kids and husband.
all the good jw's have moved to other congregations and are doing well.
I know I've got questions that can't all be answered, I just had to get some things off my chest,...
Well that just reminds me of the quote:
Better to have questions you can't answer, than answers you can't question.
